Founder Tori Macrina created the brand after recognizing that the alternatives being pushed to purchase in place of the plastic bag bans served no solution. No difference in the consequences they had on the environment. All plastic. 

Grin is rooted in a mission to reduce plastic waste and provide solutions consciously designed not only for longevity, but their end of life effects.

What started with shopping bag alternatives turned into circular development using remnant material to create everyday carryall alternatives.

Handmade in Austin, Grin bags are made with all biodegradable materials, 100% cotton with a water-based lamination as its main fabrication, no synthetics, fibers, fillers or toxic dyes. Grin customers receive all the benefits of plastic bags like water resistance and washability, but with more weight-bearing durability, and no aftermath of by-waste or pollution.

Our ask is that once your bag has carried it's last load, that instead of throwing it away, you bury it somewhere that it can naturally biodegrade into the Earth, rather than contribute to a landfill.
